Hi there, my name is Vitória Sil Machado, you can call me Vee and I've always had "bees in my bonnet" ...well, pretty much, ever since I can remember.
First and foremost i'm the proud mother to a beautiful little girl which makes each day of my life more worth living. She's my inspiration and her existence puts everything into perspective... she made me realize how powerful I am!
I'm an ex-chemist, glad to have found the guts to follow my appeal to Design and the fascinating world of artistic endeavours. Fashion Design was the dream I shunned for years on end, even though I spent most of my teenage years drawing clothes, sewing bits and pieces with my mom's sewing machine and by hand, making bags and other things, in my spare time. From the academic standpoint I made sure I learnt as much as I could: the technical and the artistic skills. My academic endeavours helped me realize how Fashion Design is actually not futile at all, quite a hard and painfull trade for those with no "gusto", competitive and ...it's a darn good mirror of the human soul. I also find it to be a true form of art in the making, with multiple avenues yet to be explored, like technology for instance. I love diving into its history's intricacies and ... I don't mean by that designer brands and big names, I mean the deeper sociological undercurrents that shape the way people dress and present themselves to the world.
Aside from my fashion "nerdity"...I love to draw, paint, sew, get down and dirty with DIY projects, cook, tidy up, appreciate a good yummy meal with my boo and baby, listen to music, read, do tarot spreads for friends in need, make little cosmetic experiments and a number of other things.
As you have probably noticed, I have a wide array of interests, a deep seeded curiosity of life which is really fulfilling at times and on other occasions makes it hard to prioritize LOL!
With that in mind, "Vees in my bonnet" had to be born! It expresses my multifaceted nature, sort of like the "jack of all trades" spirit within me!
So, now, finally, I have a place where I can channel my excess creative energy! Because, sometimes I don't even know where to start, at least here I can set some goals! And at least, I'll never be considered idle being that it's living proof of my efforts!
I intend for "Vees in my bonnet" to have a sort of journal kind of vibe with a crafsty side to it. I also aim to be of service in some way or another. I will be posting all kinds of tips and hacks I come across that inspire me and share my little"arts and crafts". I also have a shop that you can check out if you appreciate artsy items!
What more can I add? Well, I could just mention the little analogy that basically inspired me to name my little corner here "Vees in my bonnet": like the bee, I am always busy and not many people appreciate me, but I am pretty and I do like to spread my polen :D
Maybe some will love it, maybe others wont, but who gives a bee's a$$?
